New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered that the National Anthem be played in cinema halls before the start of a movie.
The anthem would be accompanied by the image of the Tricolor on the screen.
The order further directed that people in cinema halls should stand up when anthem is played.
The ruling will be given effect in a week's time and be circulated to all the states and UTs.
The order further stated that no commercial benefits be taken by a person by playing the anthem.
It also ruled that there should not be dramatisation of the national anthem and it should not be printed or displayed on undesirable objects.
