A week after the video showing a leopard entering the lobby of a building in Mulund and mauling a dog went viral, officials from the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) with volunteers from Mumbaikars of SGNP carried out a leopard awareness program at various residential societies in Mulund, which are adjacent to the park
The team from the forest department with more than 10 volunteers carried out a daylong leopard awareness session at High Land Park, Teakwood society and Lok Nisarg Society.

Residents were informed of the dos and don’ts in case of a leopard sighting. They were also told that elders should accompany children when they are playing and that floodlights should be installed in the premises.
The team was headed by Yeoor Range RFO S Salgaonkar, rescue team member Sanjay Pagare, researcher Sunetro Ghoshal and volunteer Sonu Singh.u00a0
