Crime of passion |
It was a crime of passion that could have shocked even the toughest ones. Last month, it was reported that a twice-divorced and mother of three had killed her live-in partner after he had objected to her relations with another man. The partner was six years junior to her. Police said that the accused, Shehnaz had an argument with the deceased, Rakesh Gupta on the night of October 5 last year at her residence. She then picked up a cricket stump and hit Gupta repeatedly on the head. Later, she contacted her brothers to dispose of the body, which was recovered from a septic tank two months after the crime. Police said that besides a failed relationship, the crime might have also been committed for money as the woman had closed the boutique due to financial trouble. She was desperately seeking financial aid, but Gupta was not able to meet her demands. |
