Corporate Communication head, Sahara India, Abhijit Sarkar said, "We will be partnering with IPL for sponsoring the IPL award for the next three years."
Sahara Adventure Sports Ltd of the Sahara group, a major business conglomerate and promoter of sports, was in the news recently for winning the Pune IPL franchise after bidding Rs 1,702 crore for it.
The IPL Awards will be given across 22 categories, and as many as 1,000 people are expected to attend the event. The awards have been divided into 10 IPL jury awards, eight viewers' choice awards, three statistical awards and an IPL captain's award. The winners of the first two editions of the IPL, Rajasthan Royals and Deccan Chargers, will also be feted.
The IPL Awards will be hosted by Kolkata Knights owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and producer-director Karan Johar. The winners get a trophy and cash prize.
