Thirty-five singers and the instrumentalists join hands for one grand musical affair

"Symphony has a lot of energy and is henceu00a0 received exceptionally well by youngsters," begins Pandit Barun Kumar Pal as the well-known conductor readies for a musical extravaganza in the city over the weekend.

The event will feature performances by over hundred students of Pal's school, The Millennium Symphony. Consisting of a choir group of 35 specially trained singers and the instrumentalists on flute, slide guitar, sitar, violin, tabla, synthesiser, tambura and percussions, the evening will start with a meditative Vedic chant Prashanti.

It will be followed by a welcome song Swagatamu00a0composed by Pal's guru, renowned Sitar player Pandit Ravi Shankar.

Initiation will be presented in the form of Symphony. Succeeding it will be Kalyanu00a0a composition based on the traditional evening raga Yaman. Mangalamu00a0a chanting for universal peace and Tarana will take the listeners to the climax.
