Out of the seven people accused in the scribe attack case, Hadapsar police arrested Harpal Singh Randhawa (41), a driver, at around 8.45 pm last night.

Speaking with MiD DAY, PI P G Mandhare of Hadpsar police station, said, "Following a tip-off, we arrested Randhawa from his house in Sangamwadi. He will be produced before the court tomorrow."

He added that four other accused in the case, including Anil Seolekar, have sought anticipatory bail from
the court.

Earlier, the police had arrested Jerome Devdas (49) a cook and Terence Divas, a sales manager, both working with builder Seolekar, for allegedly attacking two city journalists.

They were booked under charges of attempt to murder, unlawful confinement and rioting.

The arrests had been made following a complaint filed by Yogesh Kute, a senior journalist and president of Pune Union of Working Journalists (PUWJ) along with Sandeep Jagdale, a stringer.

The duo were allegedly tied up and beaten for two hours by Seolekar and six others at the latter's Mundhawa residence on December 12.
