Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone was the most searched individual in Yahoo! India in 2008. This is followed by Indian Railways, reveals the data released on Tuesday by Yahoo! India, on the most popular searches, themes and trends in the year 2008.

Bollywood stars such as Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor emerge in the top ten list.

While Sixth Pay Commission comes third in the list, cricket, Sachin and Tata Nano comes eighth, ninth and tenth respectively. Other most searched words include American elections, terror strikes and UPA trust vote.
Though cricket tops the list, cricket players are nowhere near the Bollywood beauties.

While cricket tops the list of the most searched words on Yahoo! India Mobile, Katrina Kaif comes second followed by Asin. Deepika Padukone is the fourth.

Interestingly, among the top online sites searched, Yahoo! comes third. Google and Rediff top the list.
