Puneri girl Vaishnavi Patil bags two more projects after stint on dance reality show
Life for 10 year-old Vaishnavi Patil is not the same anymore. After a successful appearance on a private channel in a dance reality show, she is now juggling both her studies and a career at this tender age.
On a sunny day when we met Vaishnavi, she was curled in her bed, deep in sleep in her single-room house. Her maternal aunt with whom she stays said: "She has just returned from Mumbai after a show."
It was hard to believe that this frail figure on bed, secretly wishes to be the next youth icon and will be honoured by Pratibha Patil, President on November 14 for her achievements at this young age.
After all the stardom, Vaishnavi a standard VI student in NMV Girl's High School, gets all the help possible. "My cousin helps me with my studies and communication skills. As I am from Marathi medium, I am working hard on my communication skills and English," Vaishnavi said.u00a0 "Thankfully, my school is also supportive. If I miss any examination, school authorities give me the chance to give it later."
But all this stardom has not taken away the innocence of this girl. Like any kid, she is a die-hard fan of Harry Potter and admires Daniel Radcliffe.
Recently, she bagged two major shows, one a daily soap Dil Se Diya Vachan and dance reality show Nachle Ve with Saroj Khan. Her fans cannot forget the famous statement, "Vaishnavi tu kya hai yaar, tu kuch bhi kar sakti hai" made by choreographer and director Farah Khan, everytime she came on stage.u00a0
Before her big break, Vaishnavi had also appeared on Boogie-Woogie, India's Got Talent, Etv Super Dancer, and Dam Dama Dam.
However, stardom was not easy. Her father, Madhukar Patil, is a ward boy in the Jehangir hospital and her uncle an employee with the Pune Municipal Corporation. But that did not stop her family from supporting her. "We do know how these qualities came to her but we wanted to support her," her aunt said.
