Kodi Mutt pontiff says he made everything right between CM Yeddy and his right hand woman Shobha Karandlaje after hiccup last year, but she has been ungrateful
The pontiff of Kodi Mutt is miffed with Rural Development Minister Shobha Karandlaje. Apparently, after he cleared her path to the top using his influence over the Chief Minister to prevent a rival of hers from coming too close to him, the seer is being cold-shouldered by her.
Film star Shruthi had for some time succeeded in gaining ground with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa after the BJP came to power in the state last year. And Karandlaje, known to be a good friend of Yediyurappa, made a beeline for Sri Shivananda Bharathi, the Kodi Mutt pontiff, when a few more developments indicated Shruthi had the upper hand over her.
First, after the CM made Karandlaje's rival the chairperson of the Women and Child Development Board, the film star made public her intention of divorcing her director husband S Mahendar.
Then, though Shruthi told the world she would marry Chandrachud, a journalist, political circles were abuzz with talk of her inclination towards the CM.
"It was at this stage that Shobha went to Swamiji," said a source in the BJP. "She requested him to intervene and convince Yediyurappa to leave Shruthi."

Sri Shivananda Bharathi claims he talked to Yediyurappa, and everything was all right in Karandlaje's world again.
"I was in the Himalayas when she called me, asking for help," he said. "I spoke to Yediyurappa and her problem was solved."
The pontiff is now upset that Karandlaje has forgotten what he did and has not visited him to thank him.
"These politicians are not Sathya Harishchandars of the world. They don't have ideals and we will be fools to expect them to be grateful," he said. He remembered Karandlaje had visited him before the assembly election, in which he predicted her victory.
Minister busy
He had also asked her to take his advice once she became a minister.u00a0 "She had promised, but did not turn up after assuming office," he said. "She called me only when there was a problem in the form of Shruthi. Again she forgot to be in touch after her end was achieved."
Karandlaje says she has not forgotten the help she received from anybody at all, only she was pressed for time at the moment.
"I could not have achieved anything without the blessings of Swamiji," she said. "Now, we are all busy with flood relief operations and I will shortly pay him a visit to seek his blessings."
On Shruthi, she declined to comment.
Fire & brimstone
The Kodi Mutt pontiff, Sri Shivananda Bharathi, says the natural calamities such as floods the state is witnessing today is because Chief Minister Yediyurappa ignored his words of wisdom upon coming to power last year.
"I had asked him to resign after three months of his office and seek a re-election," said the seer. "He did not listen and people are dying daily." He said more calamities were in the offing and the government could not avert these so long as the chief minister ignored his advice.
