Culprit made a clean getaway right in front of the police

He went downstairs to his father Shiv Kumar's jewellery shop, and found his parents sitting there.
The family went upstairs and realised that a robbery was in progress. Their neighbour Pawan Sharma called up the PCR. Since there was no response, they now called up the police station of Bindapur in southwest Delhi. The cops there insisted that they make a PCR call. Only when Pawan said that he knew the SHO, did they agree to send two policemen over.
The lights in the house had been switched off by the time the cops reached the spot. Unaware of what was happening inside, the policemen with the help of some local people broke open the back door of the house. But to their utter disappointment they found no one inside. The robber had camouflaged himself in the crowd that gathered outside the house and fled.
"There was no robber inside the residence. Actually Mohit had pulled the door while going out, but somehow it got locked from inside. So after he returned from the terrace he failed to open the door. Also if there had been a robber, he would have stolen something, but nothing happened," said Banvarey Lal, Sub-Inspector (Bindapur).
After the police failed to get hold of the robber, they asked Shiv to write that nothing was stolen from his house.
Yhe family is not amused. "A few days back several alcohol bottles were found on my terrace. Many criminals have started operating in this colony," said Shiv Kumar.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0
