Luke Kenny is a man who juggles many hats -- VJ, music critic, director, producer and after Rock On, that of an actor. But the weight rests lightly on him, and he does not consider it a delicate balancing act.

"There's no balancing act! It's one hat at a time, for only then, can one focus!" Which is the most exiting hat? "I'm a mad hatter, so all have equal value for me. That's the reason why I'm able to wear so many hats. And I hope they fit me well," Luke grins.

Kenny was born into music.u00a0 "I was born in Kolkata and moved to Mumbai when I was a few months old. My grandfather was a jazz drummer in Delhi during the 60s and my father had his own band in Calcutta.

My grandmother, on the other hand, was a Bollywood buff. So while she would listen to Bollywood songs, my granddad would listen to jazz and my dad to the Beatles. It was as if I was bombarded with music from all sides," he says.

For a rock enthusiast, it is perhaps ironic that his philosophy towards music is defined by a Michael Jackson song. "Music is me. We're Siamese twins. It reminds me of the lyrics of MJ's Music and me. It fits me very well," smiles Kenny.u00a0

After the tremendous success of Rock On, Bollywood is still in the cards for the musician.u00a0 "I'll be starting a film in November, but the role is different. I like to do tangentially different roles." Whatever it is, he does not want to be stereotyped.

"I don't want to be 'The Music Boy'. I may play a vampire, an underworld don or anything else, but don't want to remain the music boy," he says.

Luke is no stranger to Pune. "I played there in January and was thrilled to see some 800 people turn up." What's he planning this time? It seems apt that Kenny is all set to pay a tribute to Nirvana with songs from their second studio album Nevermind. One of the highest selling albums, the world over, Nevermind turns 19 this month.u00a0

He's excited about the Pune audience. "It's a very student city. Almost like a huge campus. You can feel their vibe when performing," he says. And what better way to celebrate Teen Spirit?
