Passengers from Mexico, Canada and US are being screened for swine flu

Special counters have been set at the international terminal of Indira Gandhi International airport here to screen the passengers arriving from the US, Canada and Mexico, badly affected with swine flu, to prevent the strain of virus entering India.

The airport operator Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has set up eight counters at the arrival area for health officials to screen those coming from the swine flu-affected regions, sources at the airport said.

Health officials in coordination with immigration officials would be screening the passengers and if someone is found to have any symptom of the disease he or she will be quarantined at the Yellow Fever hospital near the airport, which has a capacity to accommodate around 100 passengers, the sources said.
