In an interesting political development on December 6, Sri Ram Sene's (SRS) north India head and national general secretary Vinay Kumar Singh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with 51 supporters.
Singh was in news for spitting at Prof SAR Geelani, accused and later acquitted in the Parliament attack case.
Though Singh refused to comment, his party members confirmed the development. "Our inspiration is the Sangh Parivar and we (the BJP) follow the same line of thought. This is a new beginning," said Arun Kumar, former Delhi SRS head, who joined BJP with Singh.
