Two years back, they used to study computer animation together and were good friends. Then cupid struck but only one way. The boy, Rajdev Tomar, proposed to the girl Anamika (name changed) but she rejected the proposal and asked him to stop thinking about any such relationship.
Rajdev then started making vulgar calls to Anamika. After a few days, she lodged a complaint against him at Prashant Vihar police station. Rajdev was arrested and sent to jail in 2009. After, his release, Rajdev again started harassing Anamika with calls and messages.
On March 29 this year, Rajdev stopped Anamika while she was going on a road and threatened her that if she didn't marry him within seven days, he will kill all her family members. Shocked and scared Anamika then told her family members about the incident and again complained to the cops. This time an FIR was lodged with the Crime Branch.
However, Rajdev somehow got the information about an FIR against him and went underground. The cops conducted raids to arrest him but he couldn't be traced. Then on Sunday, Rajdev surrendered in Rohini court.
"We had registered a case under section 341, 506 and 509 of IPC against him and even conducted raids to arrest him but he surrendered in the court. He has got a bail but the court has warned him to change his behaviour or a strict action would be taken against him," said a police officer.
