Swine flu toll in city rises to 164

With the death of Tangaeea Waghmare, a 28-year-old resident of Santosh Nagar in Katraj, the swine flu toll in the city reached 164.

With the death of Tangaeea Waghmare, a 28-year-old resident of Santosh Nagar in Katraj, the swine flu toll in the city reached 164.

Waghmare had undergone a caesarian delivery in a private hospital onu00a0 December 28.

But soon after the delivery she developed cough and fever and was shifted to Bharati Hospital on New Year's Eve.

Later, she tested positive for H1N1 virus and was shifted to Sassoon Hospital on January 4.

Waghmare was put on ventilator and she succumbed to the illness at around 11.30 am yesterday. According to reports, her baby is normal and free from the deadly H1N1 infection.
