Hearing a petition filed by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) challenging the government's decision, the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) also said that GSM operators have no right to get spectrum (radio frequency) beyond 6.2 MHz.
The tribunal also hit out at telecom regulator TRAI for recommending subscriber-linked criteria for allocating additional spectrum, saying these were not fair and transparent.
