Is what you can get at the navruz festival here

So you love your Mediterranean? How about you up the curiosity levels little more and try out a cuisine that's not generally available at restaurants around you? We are talking about Tajikistan cuisine, which this place is offering on occasion of Navruz on March 21.

Tajikistan food is a blend of non-vegetarian dishes with clear Iranian influences and fruits and vegetables, especially in the summer.

A typical Tajikistan meal is a sumptuous affair with appetisers and soups, preparations of meat and specially cooked rice. Many indigenous soups are also prepared in Tajikistan.

The cuisine is known for usage of abundant dried fruits, local fresh fruits and vegetables, goat milk yoghurt, homemade breads like rye, wheat and non, hearty soups like the solyanka, sheesh kebabs, pilau, sambusa, lemon cake and more.

The highlights of the buffet here are Shashlyk Lipioshka (tender lamb shashlik served with flat bread and sliced onion) and Sambusa (minced turkey filled fritters) for appetisers.

For the main course, dig into dishes like Kaurdak kaimak (roast meat served with fried onion and sour cream), Qurutob (baked vegetable with salted yoghurt and flaxseed oil), Domlama (mutton with assorted Tajik vegetables). Round off with Shirbhirinj (which is a milk pudding) and Halvaitar (liquid flour halwa).

At: Seven, The Suryaa, New Friends Colony
Timings: 7:30 pm to 11 pm
Meal for two: Rs 2,500 + taxes
