Every brand has a story to tell, but DKNY (Donna Karan New York) has a remarkable one. Launched in 1989, it was ace designer Donna Karan's journey to create denim that would appeal to her daughter Gabby. Since then, the label has embossed its name on the heart of millions, spanning many a milestone. The store is a winner on all counts inventory, display and selection. The chic lifestyle brand has currently introduced its spring summer ready-to-wear collection here, which flirts with florescent and neon accents. Like all its previous collections, this new line of apparel illustrates the get-up-and-go spirit of New York. The line has two different kinds of dresses, bum-grabbing jerseys bloused at the hips, and bustier frocks. Either way, they are short, in black, navy and splashed in vibrant colours a neon yellow strapless and an electric-blue mini with black straps. A series of tweeds separates sexy from the office-girl effect. The designs in the collection also take a trip back in time with the 'boyfriend jacket' and the twill parka dress. The men's collection of trousers, shirts and t-shirts are subtler, with a use of more neutrals and pastel shades.

There is not much of a difference in the two stores beyond their location. There is a limited yet proper collection of sunglasses, watches, footwear and bags. Still, the outlet at DLF Place, Vasant Kunj has lot of scope to improve in areas like stocking and its display, especially in the footwear section. Accessories also support the philosophy of DKNY, and address real-life needs of people everywhere. The collection delivers a unique mix of international styles and sensibilities. Let's not get into pricing, DKNY is not for everyone, anyway.u00a0u00a0
