As a part of Bengaluru Habba, Sangeeta Jung presents With Love from Hyderabad, a collection of around 45 photographs by 12 budding artistes from Hyderabad.
Meet the works of photographers like Sachin Jaltare, Syed Ali Arif, Mohammad Osmna, Pandu Masman, Stalin Joseph and several others.u00a0 The participants present an assortment of their perspectives on rustic India. "I am really thrilled and grateful to get an opportunity to project these promising artistes," says Sangeeta as she talks to MiD DAY. The collection is essentially based on villages around Hyderabad, yet they present a flavour of villages across India. "The Habba aims to reach an international level. So we thought we should focus on a flavour that represents the whole country at least at our gallery," adds Sangeeta.
These photos seem to abound in a raw appeal that's hard to miss. They also take you on a journey through Indian villages of the past and present. Each of them speaks of the past and the present. In fact, the images also bring out the urbanity that is slowly engulfing those areas. Gopal Nayak Chandavath's work will show you this truth through geometrical patterns, avant-garde concepts and various mediums that provide a unique blend of mysticism and abstractness.
The hidden eroticism in the photographs of temples and dancing girls also bring out the warmth and the evolution of Telengana culture. Dark complexioned women set against tribal landscape seem to portray an image of India we all love and connect with. We are a country of villages and most probably will remain so.
