When Shailja Awasthi, a management professional, learnt that she had won the Rate the Story and Win a Meal contest,u00a0 she decided to get her foodie friend Avantika Sharma along for the free meal pass at Northern Spice. Here's an account of the bubbly duo's gastronomic adventure.
The desi menu at the Gurgaon eatery was a welcome change for the two, who were bored of eating pizzas and burgers. Without wasting any time, they started with Blue Sea and Prohibition Punch mocktails, along with a kebab platter. After repeating their drinks, the invitees switched to main course with Aloo Chutney Vaale, Tadka Dal, Subz Korma and Peshawari Biryaniu00a0all exotic, all Nizami. The hearty meal was wrapped up by the Sheer Korma and Kesari Kulfi Faluda. "The best part of the food is that the taste matches the description on the menu," said a visibly excited Avantika, as she relished the gourmet spread.
A li'l bit of everything
"For me, MiD DAY is like a wholesome entertainer. While slogging it out in the office, I grab a copy of the paper and read everything that I want to, from music to movies and art to food," smiled 24-year-old Shailja. Now that's what we call a true pro on the go, MiD DAY ishtyle!
