Oops! On October 1, Shiva, Channappa and Bettaswamy made another plan to kill Nanjaih, fearing he might retaliate for his son's murder

The case has been in court for the last 10 years. Finally, the duo decided to kill Nanjaih.

They approached Bettaswamy, who also had a dispute with Nanjaih, and convinced him to join them.u00a0 On September 3, they hid in an isolated area near Nanjaih's land in Kunigal. They had information that Nanjaih would be coming on a two-wheeler from Bangalore.

In late evening they saw the vehicle approach them, and thought it was Nanjaih. So making use of the dark, they attacked the rider with sharp objects, who was actually Shivraju, killing him.

Realising that they had killed the wrong man, the trio took the body to Bangalore, and cremated it, effectively destroying the evidence. When the half-burned body was finally found, it was discovered that it was Shivraju. But since they didn't have any clues, the police could not do anything.u00a0u00a0

Nanjaih had told the cops his history with Shiva and Channappa. But again, there were no clues linking them to the murder. So, the police kept a close watch on Shiva and Channappa. On October 1, they made another plan to kill Nanjaih, fearing he might retaliate for his son's murder.

They travelled to Bangalore, and approached Nanjaih's house in Kamakshyapalya. But since the police had been recording their telephonic conversations, they knew about the plan, and the duo were nabbed before they could go ahead with their plan. Then in confession, they agreed that they have killed Shivraju.

N H Ramachandraiah, PI, Kamakshyapalya said, "They mistakenly killed Shivraju. We have arrested the three, and sent them to jail."
