Named after the popular song, A Spoonful of Sugar from the famous book series by PL Travers and Hollywood film Mary Poppins, it has enough goodies to pamper your sweet tooth.

Tucked away in a bylane, Spoonful of Sugar is a place you can easily miss while driving past. And if you do, the loss is allu00a0 yours. A small bakery with attractive wooden seating outside along with sunny patches, planters and colourful hanging star lamps and brightly painted stools strewn around, A Spoonful of Sugar is ideal for a Sunday brunch.

When we entered, all the goodies on the shelves looked so tempting that it was difficult to single out just one. Finally we settled for the chocolate cupcakes with colourful sprinklers on top (Rs 50), which looked very inviting.

The first bite and we knew it was a good pick. The chocolate had melted while being warmed just the right amount. What we got was a gooey chocolaty mess with a layer of firm cake at the bottom. We were already on a sugar high when we caught fancy to the Banoffe Pie (Rs 133) and Xtreme Oreo Pie (Rs 133).

The amalgamation of textures in the Banoffe with a crunchy base, chewy caramel and smooth cream was a sheer delight. However, the Oreo Extreme (Rs 133), which is a melt-in-your-mouth combo of cookies and Mascarpone cheese steals the show.

But when we tried the gelatinous walnut filled Chocolate Fudge Brownie (Rs 50) we were again bowled over with this one being the perfect ending to day dedicated to desserts. Apart from their range of pastries and tarts, the confectionary also makes the good ol' tea cakes like Lemon Loaf, Pound and Carrot Cakes.

If so much of desserts turns you off, then Spoonful of Sugar also has an interesting range of sandwiches, burgers and dips like Basil & Sun Dried Tomato Pesto (Rs 130), Parsley, Almond and Parmesan Pesto (Rs 130), Mango Salsa (Rs 85) which you can take home.

Ideal for hen parties where your pals can nibble on crackers smeared with these dips. We also tried the Mini Chicken Quiche (Rs 40), a cheesy and tangy chicken starter encased in a crunchy pie crust. Though tasty, the gooey and cheesy Chicken Lasagne (Rs 266) that we tried may weigh heavy on your pockets and yet not appease your hunger.

u00a0Cute and cozy, Spoonful of Sugar is a haven for all who love confectionary delicacies. Every cake, pastry or savoury at this store has been whipped up and presented in a heartbreakingly beautiful manner. If you want to have a quick bite of some of the all time favourite pastries and cakes, then this tiny corner at Indiranagar is the place to be. We just wish their prices were slightly toned down.
