Two suspects were rounded up by the special staff of the Delhi Police on Thursday in connection with the Jama Masjid shootout case.
The two were detained on a tip-off by rivals, police sources told MiD DAY."The suspects had gone to meet their associates in the Murga Mandi area. Both have been detained and are being interrogated," they said.
"We can not reveal their identities as we are yet to get anything concrete against them. We are questioning them," said a senior police officer.
Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said, "It is not a serious matter. The two youths have been detained for questioning only."
On September 19, suspected terrorists opened fire on a tourist bus opposite Gate number 9 of Jama Masjid. The bus was carrying Taiwanese tourists. Two tourists -- Ko Chang and Ku Ze Wei - were rushed to the nearby Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospitals.
The attackers had also tried to blast a car bomb, which failed to go off.
Immediately after the attack, terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen had sent an e-mail claiming responsibility for the attack.
The e-mail, purportedly sent from an fake account created in Mumbai, was sent to a foreign media organisation. The attacks came weeks ahead of the opening of the Commonwealth Games and caused security concerns among particpating nations.
