If you are a Kumar Gandharva fan, there is good news for you. Open Space has organised a musical evening and are presenting a concert titled Kumar Gandharva Darshan
The Kumar Gandharva Darshan will feature performances by singer Pushkar Lele, who is a disciple of Pandit Vijay Sardeshmukh and Pandit Satyasheel Deshpande, who are both senior disciples of Kumar Gandharva. It will also have an audio-visual presentation alongwith a theme narration by Chinmay Kelkar and script reading by Chaitanya Kunte.
The programme has been previously staged in Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Bijapur and Sydney.
"The idea behind the concert is to give people a feel of the music composed by Kumar Gandharva which they haven't been exposed to. There is so much about this great man that we don't know and those aspects will be presented," says Pushkar Lele.u00a0
He further adds that it's an honour to perform on Kumar Gandharva's compositions. "He had the greatest of influences on me. I think he is also a musician who put a lot of thought in whatever he spoke about."
The audio-visual presentation will include interviews by other musicians, tidbits about his life, musical career, recording and photographs. Lele will present a variety of musical genres starting from Thumri to Kham.u00a0
