The German Bakery under the new management headed by Vijay Shewale will be opened only after a Vastu Shanti ceremony ufffd a pooja and hawan will be conducted by a priest. This will happen in the next two months.
A big party, which will follow the inauguration of German Bakery, will see high-profile people attending it.
"We are trying to make this place the best place possible and plan to invest more in it. The cost of construction, interiors and other miscellaneous items may go up to Rs 1.5 crore. The idea is to make the bakery vibrant for people of all age groups," said Shewale. "There will be an elevator for people who are physically handicapped and senior citizens if they want to go to the first floor. We are also trying to make parking arrangements at the back."
Rajan Udale, a colleague and partner of Shewale, is looking after the construction work and interiors.
"Before the blast, the bakery could accommodate only a few tables. Now we can serve over 125 customers at one time. There will be a spacious kitchen too," said Shewale. "We welcome the old staff to work in the bakery with a new atmosphere. We are also looking for a German cook or chef since we are introducing new German dishes."
German Bakery might also see Indian cuisine.
"We might introduce Maharashtrian or South Indian dishes, but nothing has been finalised so far," said Shewale.
