"It is a very good thing that a state Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) is undertaking a tour of Pakistan next month and a delegation had also come from Pakistan and they extended the invitation to him. I believe that it is a very good thing," Malik said.

"The newer generation should strengthen our relations and I also represent this generation. So, I believe that it is better to live with peace and amity," she added.

Kumar has planned an official visit to Pakistan from November 9 to 16.

Apart from Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, he would also visit the historical sites of Mohenjodaro and Harappa to see the archaeological marvels of yore.

Recalling former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad's visit to Pakistan, Malik said Kumar's trip would make him a well known face and personality in her country.

"Laluji is quite popular in Pakistan. There is no doubt of that. But after this visit, Nitishji is also going to be very famous because anybody who tries to bring together two classes of people or communities, he is loved by all. I believe that Nitishiji's efforts will be well received. He is so popular due to which he has been invited to visit Pakistan," said Malik.
