Thermal scanners to be installed at all international airports in the country to prevent the spread of H1N1 virus

Prevention is better than cure.

This seems to be the mantra at all international airports in the country, where thermal scanners are being installed to scan passengers for the flu. The scanners will help detect infected passengers, airline and airport employees.

Meanwhile, health officials at Delhi airport have requested the airport and airlines staff to remain cautious.
"We have asked them to report immediately if they develop flu-like symptoms," said Delhi Airport Health Officer Suchet Singh.

Officials of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) the joint venture company modernising IGI Airport - have claimed they are well prepared to combat swine flu.

"At IGI Airport, we have all the modern equipment and facilities to deal with the flu and have a quarantine ward as well,'' said a DIAL spokesperson.
