Any guess what Vivek Oberoi was doing on Tuesday night?

The actor said he couldn't resist the urge to drive the sports car, in which his friends had come to receive him at the Delhi airport.

Oberoi was in town to unveil car designer Dilip Chhabria's Imperator sedan, on display at the 10th Auto Expo. Interestingly, the sedan, Chhabria claims, has the luxury quotient of Audi Q7, styling of a Ferrari and off-road experience of a Hummer.

The sedan, when unveiled by Oberoi on Wednesday, impressed many, including the star, who couldn't stop gushing: "I drive a Mercedes but would like to own this super machine. I have never seen such a stylish car. I was amazed by its huge tyres. This is exactly what I want," said Oberoi.

But he couldn't forget the Lamborghini. "My friend came to receive me at the airport in his Lamborghini Gallardo and I immediately said I wanted to drive it. We drove around the city till 1.30 am. I love driving and driving in Delhi is a pleasure. In Mumbai, the roads are marked with potholes and one can barely drive there," said Oberoi.

The Imperator is powered by Audi's 6.0 litre V12 TDI engine and fitted with 28-inch wheels. "This is an audacious concept meant to generate a new segment where an SUV need not be boxy and rugged but sexy and sensual. It's a visual treat," said Chabbria about his design.

Nano mania

"There is a lot of speculation in the media about the Rs 1-cr Nano car I am designing. It will be ready for public unveiling within the next few months. We will make one car to begin with but if there is demand we will make additional units," said Dilip Chhabria.

He said the design and development of the car will cost around Rs 1 crore, of which 90 per cent has already been invested.
