'If you can't handle the heat, don't tickle the dragon,' warns a graffiti at the 64 Bistro Bar. We decided to let angry dragons lie and instead admired the funky artworks by local artists that line the walls at 64.
The eatery is the latest and surprisingly affordable trattoria on-the-block to spend some good times.
We loved the doodles on Calvin and Garfield. Music buffs can pick up hand-drawn paintings of music heavy weights Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and the likes at throwaway prices.
The logo outside the eatery says 64 house full of flavours, but don't go there expecting that many flavours. For those who think straight, it's just the number of the plot on which the bistro stands.
But look beyond and you'll see the place hitting a musical high note, with melody notes printed on lampshades, sketches and paintings of singers and live gigs on weekends.

Imagine live jazz, rock or blues over a lazy Sunday brunch with some creamy pasta and a cocktail. Just perfect!
For those who dig Italian and don't want to bother too much with fancy fine dining, will find the soup, salad and pasta buffet (Rs 125) interesting, although it's not quite indulgent. You can add an entru00e9e or a sandwich from the several options (Rs 175) available.
The best part is that not only do you get to choose pasta of your choice, you can ask for the kind of sauce you want dry, medium or saucy. A great option for those who are always on-the-move: just grab a salad and pasta and you are done. Tank up on some peach iced tea while you wait for your order.
Look for an impressive line-up of starters like bruschettas, chicken or cheese skewers, fish cakes, cheese jalapeno poppers and more.
If you want to go a la carte, we recommend the Veg Panini that comes stuffed with grilled mushrooms, zucchini, jalapenos, garlic, basil and mozzarella cheese (Rs 175) or the Stuffed Chicken Pockets, a roasted breast of chicken stuffed with mushrooms and cottage cheese (Rs 250) besides the usual burgers, sandwiches and wraps.
Ask for a dessert tray that comes around at the end of your meal, to pick one of your choice. We recommend you leave room for some Better than Sex, a dark chocolate cake. When we sampled it, we hit our sweet spot and we're going back for these mood-altering-pick-me-ups again.
Did we tell you there's also the terrace patio with sun-dappled decks, a great al fresco alternative for couples who like whispering sweet nothings to each other or for even those looking for a breath of fresh air.
The only bit egregious for us was the new IPL menu on board. But we're sure the cricket freaks wouldn't mind gorging on the Knight Riders fish cutlet or biting into the Delhi Daredevil's chicken wings.
There's also Punjab XI Tangri Kabab, Mumbai Kolivada Macchi, Deccan Adraki Mushroom and Chennai Super Lasooni Gobhi to represent the other IPL teams. Kannadiga RCB fans would have to suffice with pigging out the Bangaluru Fried Chicken though.u00a0
