Pitch black may not be something you associate with musical symphony, but city-based Psychedelic Rock and Progressive Metal band Pitch Black Symphony (PBS) promise to take you by surprise. The band will be performing at Zaha at an event organised by social outfit FREE, which works towards imparting life-skills based education about health, gender and sexuality.u00a0
The band members of PBS are Clynton Fernandes (head vocalist), Sujit Nair (keyboards), Johnston D'Souza, Akash Chanda (bass guitar) and Sober Huriyam (lead guitarist).
"We will play a lot of original tracks. We might also play the cover track Hail and Kill by Manowar," states Clynton. PBS derives inspiration from international bands like Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, ACDC and Dream Theatre.u00a0u00a0
The band was formed two years ago and has been seen and heard at major music events across the city. The year 2009 was eventful for them as they bagged several laurels; they were the finalists at Independence Rock 2009, and also took part in Battle of the Bands at Pune Central. Clynton, himself, won the Kingfisher Voice of Goa 2005 and the Simbhav Fest 2009. PBS expects a college-going crowd to turn up at the event, which Clynton feels has a "good ear for Rock music".
