A woman died and 3 of her family members suffered injuries when the roof of her house came down in Ashok Vihar area of Outer Delhi

A woman died and 3 of her family members suffered injuries when the roof of her house came down in Ashok Vihar area of Outer Delhi. The incident was reported at around 9.30 pm on Monday night when Kavita Devi, 30, was sleeping with her family at her residence when suddenly the roof of their house collapsed upon them.

The neighbours called the fire brigade and tried to rescue them. The fire tenders reached the spot in a short while and the firemen started searching for the people in the ruins.

After half an hour of search and rescue operations the firemen took out the lady and her 3 children from under the fallen roof. An ambulance took the victims to the nearest hospital. Kavita was declared brought dead and her two sons and daughter have suffered severe injuries. Kavita's body has been sent for post mortem.

Kavita's husband Ramdas was not in the house at the time of the incident. According to a fire official the house was old and dilapidated. Also it was raining in the Capital since Monday morning and the drizzle had probably weakened.
