Woman tonsured, paraded around by in-laws

A 28-year-old woman was tonsured and paraded around by her in-laws, who were not happy with the fact that she was working.

A 28-year-old married woman was allegedly tonsured and taken around in a locality in CB Ganj police station area by her in-laws, police said.

Archana, a resident of West Bengal and married to Dodram of Atariya locality, used to work as a domestic help in the area to make ends meet.

This was not liked by her in-laws, police said.

Yesterday, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law with the help of a neighbour beat her, shaved her head and took her around the locality to humiliate her, police said.

On the complaint of the victim and her husband, a case has been filed.

Neighbour Ram Chandra Yadav has been arrested, while a hunt was on for the remaining accused, police added.u00a0
