The American website Scripped is offering Rs 24,000 for a short screenplay about the global financial crisis
A website for writers is looking for short screenplays with recession as the theme.
Scripped (https://www.scripped.com/) is running a contest, and offers 500 dollars (Rs 24,240) for the winning entry, which could be in any genre.
Your script should run into at least five pages, but shouldn't exceed 10 pages. August 1 is the last day to send in your submission.
Scripped offers a free online scriptwriting software for those interested in writing for the movies.
The final judging panel includes Alex Albrecht, whom the site describes as "the new media mogul", and the technology/business lifestyle reporter for the Los Angeles Weekly.
"The contest is not genre specific as long as it addresses the financial crisis in some way, shape, or form you are fine. You may enter if you are from outside the US," says the website.
You could write to Scripped with questions.
Scripped has some 20,000 writer-members, and 28,000 ready scripts. It also works with colleges and universities that offer screenwriting courses.
The site says: "The winning script will be easy to produce, accessible to a broad audience, and say something original about the global recession. Financial crises can be comedic, dramatic, horrific, or even romantic. Make this topic yours!"
