Students' union in AP is using the leader's policies to bring in youth

Leader of the masses? While YSR was alive he was much criticised, yet in death he finally finds respect. An image from a publicity campaign

The AP unit of the National Students' Union of India plans to start a campaign after the condolence meeting to be held on September 9.

I have always been for Andhra's development:
YSR, when alive was considered a saviour to some and a demon to others. He, however, can be credited for taking Andhra out of its obsession with urban areas

"He was a leader who always supported the idea of youth entering politics as he believed that politics was a way to serve people," said Raman R, a source close to NSUI's AP state president.

"He is the man behind several policies for the youth including a university in each district. Hence, we will take his polices to the youth and urge them join us."

Big names

NSUI is getting leading writers to script Reddy's yet-to-be-named biography and also plans to bring out booklets, audio tracks and audiovisual documentaries showcasing a dynamic, committed and progressive Reddy.u00a0
Well-known artists will work on the documentaries which will also highlight YSR's popular policies for different segments including tribals, students, farmers and the poor.

However, the big names, including a few close to YSR's life, working on the campaign, will be announced after the mourning. "We will have talks with YSR's family before making an announcement," said Vamshi Chandra Reddy, NSUI, AP state president. "Seniors who have been seeing YSR work for many years will help us," he said.

The NSUI plans to distribute the promotional material free of cost.
