Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa was down in the dumps on the day BJP was celebrating a year in office.u00a0 It was the effect of Kodimata's prediction that he would lose power very soon.
Kodimata, where predictions are based on ancient palm leaf inscriptions, had foretold the downfall of the late Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. A recent reading has now predictedu00a0 'Sthana Pallata' for Yeddyurappa, which means he will lose his seat. This comes soon after its other predictions coming true: the BJP picking up the maximum number of parliamentary seats in Karnataka and L K Advani losing the race to the prime minister's chair.
u00a0 A jittery Yeddyurappa has booked an appointment at Kodimata. "Chief minister Yeddyurappa's son Raghavendra called us for an appointment," said a source close to the seer at Kodimata, Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji.
"He was not sworn in at an auspicious time. Hence, nothing can prevent him from losing power this year even if he manages to save himself this June," added the source.
The seer confirmed this.
"Readings predict bad times for the CM," Shivananda Shivayogi Rajendra Swamiji told MiD DAY. "He will lose his seat. Nothing can stop this."
Colleagues busy
The prediction has seen more than 13 of Yeddyurappa's cabinet colleagues making a beeline for Kodimata in the last week. They include panchayat raj minister Shobha Karandlaje, sugar minister Shivraj S Thangadagi, K S Eshwarappa, who is not on the best of terms with Yeddyurappa and skipped the au00a0 celebrations, and speaker Jagdish Shettar, a known dissenter, said sources.
BSY in trouble
Other numerologists are also predicting bad times for Yeddyurappa.
"Eight is a crucial number as per his horoscope," said Basavraj, a numerologist whom politicians consult often. "He has lost planet Jupiter's support. Something bad may happen by the 8th."
