Riders from Pune and Mumbai to visit 4 villages in Vikramgadh in Thane district and distribute around 90 solar lamps as part of their rural upliftment campaign
Come Sunday and 80-100 young bikers from Pune and Mumbai will be travelling to Vikramgadh to light up a bunch of remote villages in the country. ‘Light for Life’, a social campaign, endeavours to provide more than 90 solar lamps to more than four remote villages of Vikramgadh.
Rohit Upadhyay, organiser of the campaign, said, “This is our way to give back to society. While the whole country celebrates the festival of lights, there are a few remote places that don’t have power, not even for their school-going children. This campaign is our initiative to change that. The activity is spread over the next three months but this Sunday, all of us bikers will go there on a one-day expedition to distribute lanterns and spend some time with the villagers.”
