Chinese hackers have been trying hard to crack Indian cyber space. There have been more aggressive hacking attempts by Chinese hackers since the past one year.

A Bloomberg report, quoting US-based cybersecurity company Recorded Future, stated that Chinese state-sponsored hackers’ connection to an Indian maritime port continues to be active.
The hacker group, identified as RedEcho, had targeted 10 entities linked to nation’s power grid and two maritime ports. Recorded Future alerted the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) on February 10 about these and as of February 28 most connections were active, Bloomberg quoted Recorded Future COO Stuart Solomon as saying.
“There’s still an active connection between the attacker and the attackee [port]. It’s still happening,” Solomon said.
Various government organisations like the CERT-IN and the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) are following trends and keeping a track of attempts made by Chinese after the Galwan clash. Experts said attempts from China have increased in the past year, which further amplified after the Indian government banned Chinese applications.
A report emerged this week claiming that two Indian companies, which are supplying COVID-19 vaccinations - Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech - are under cyber attack by a Chinese hacking group APT10, also known as Stone Panda and actively targeting one such company. Sources claimed that CERT-IN is looking into this matter.
Also, Telangana electricity department officials have also claimed that they have received alerts from CERT-IN about Chinese malware trying to enter the cyber system of the department.
