A 26-year-old wife from Loni allegedly had to bear the brunt of her husband's debt as she was raped by his friend for not able to pay off Rs 5000 loan.
The crime occurred on September 29 in Loni, Maharashtra where a 30-year-old man allegedly offered his wife to his friend.
The woman then approached local police on October 1 and lodged an FIR for rape, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation against her husband and his friend at Loni border police station.
According to police investigation, the woman's husband, Naresh Kumar, hails from Bulandshahr but lived with his wife and two minor children at Loni. He had borrowed Rs. 5,000 from his friend who lives in Loni and works at a textile unit in Delhi.
The woman said that on September 29, Naresh and his friend came home at around 11.45pm and had drinks together after which her husband let him he raped her.
Following investigation, police arrested both Naresh and the accused.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, the husband has denied the incident while the accused said that he had made advances towards the woman and also touched the upper parts of her body. He further revealed that after he got involved in the act, her husband kept a watch at the main gate of the house.
