New Delhi: A 75-year-old man has donated his liver and corneas at AIIMS, becoming the oldest for cadaver donation at the Institute. Narsing Pal (75), hailing from Aligarh and a resident of Delhi, died of intra-cerebral hemorrhage (ICH), a type of stroke caused by bleeding within the brain tissue, on May 27.
Pal had been a diabetic for ten years and had been taken to G B Pant hospital in a serious condition from a private hospital on May 26. He was transferred to AIIMS Trauma Centre on May 30. "Organs retrieved were liver and corneas but the kidney, heart and heart valves were not useful due to clinical condition.
