Dattaraj Salgaocar, the prominent Goan businessman and son-in-law of the late Dhirubhai Ambani (he is married to Dipti, Ambani’s daughter), has reason to cheer this week. His football team Goa FC defeated Ranbir Kapoor’s Mumbai City FC team 7-0 in the Indian Super League match held on Tuesday at the Fatorda stadium in Goa. The match also set the record for the most goals scored in the league so far with hat tricks from two of the Goan strikers. When we asked Salgaocar, a passionate football fan himself (he supports Real Madrid and has attended every World Cup in recent times), to comment on the win, he said, “I am very happy with the win, as we were playing with many injuries and a tough opponent.
