Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel Tuesday said he would ask the ministerial group on civil aviation to immediately release funds for cash-strapped national carrier Air India as recommended by the committee of secretaries.

The group of ministers (GoM) on civil aviation headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee meets Wednesday to look into issues confronting the aviation sector.
