Controversial Hindu religious guru Nityananada Swami, facing rape charges, may lose control of his sprawling ashram complex near Bangalore following a fresh row, a Karnataka minister indicated
"The government is thinking of taking control of the ashram and appoint an administrator in view of allegations that objectionable activities are taking place there," Law Minister S. Suresh Kumar told reporters at Dharwad, about 400 km north of Bangalore.

The ashram is situated on a 29-acre plot in Bidadi, about 35 km from Bangalore.
