In view of the upcoming special session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the Ranchi district administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC within a 100-meter radius of the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/ex-jharkhand-cm-hemant-soren-transferred-from-jail-for-land-scam-inquiry-to-face-ed-questioning-23333249" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Jharkhand assembly building</a>, reported news agency ANI.
As per an official order, restrictions will be imposed from Monday at 8:00 am until Tuesday at 10:00 pm, reported ANI.
As per <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/waiting-for-raj-bhavans-invite-to-form-govt-jmms-champai-soren-23332899" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">district administration officials</a>, the directives prohibit any form of procession, rally, demonstration, or encroachment in the specified area, the circular stated, reported ANI.
The order prohibits the gathering of five or more individuals, except for government officials, employees engaged in official duties, and participants in judicial and religious activities, reported ANI.
The directive explicitly restricts the carrying or brandishing of any kind of weapons, including firearms, ammunition, or any other arms. It further prohibits the display or use of items such as sticks, rods, bows and arrows, and other <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/jharkhand-cm-hemant-soren-arrested-by-ed-after-interrogations-23332809" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">traditional weapons</a>.
The order emphasizes the importance of maintaining public peace and tranquillity during the legislative session, reported ANI.
These stringent measures come into force as part of the security arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the special session and to prevent any untoward incidents in the new Jharkhand Assembly building, reported ANI.
The two-day <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/sc-rejects-hemant-sorens-plea-against-arrest-by-ed-asks-him-to-move-hc-23333089" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Assembly Session</a> will begin on Monday.&nbsp;
The Champai Soren government in Jharkhand will seek a vote of confidence on Monday, the first day of the two-day assembly session.
The MLAs of the ruling JMM-led alliance exuded confidence of winning the floor test, while the opposition BJP asserted that the coalition would be defeated.
A video, released by the coalition last week, had claimed that it has the support of 43 legislators.
The alliance among the JMM, Congress and the RJD has 47 MLAs, and it is supported from outside by a lone CPIML(L) legislator.
The MLAs of the ruling alliance also exuded confidence to win the trust vote in the assembly, soon after their return to Ranchi from Hyderabad on Sunday evening.
About 38 legislators had gone to Hyderabad, the capital of Congress-ruled Telangana, in two flights on February 2, amid the coalition's fears that the BJP might attempt to "poach" them in the run-up to the trust vote.
JMM legislature party leader Champai Soren took oath as the chief minister of Jharkhand on February 2, after his predecessor Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate last week in a money laundering case.
A special PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act) court has allowed him to participate in the trust vote.
Hemant Soren was remanded to ED custody for five days by the court on February 2.&nbsp;
