The impact killed the guard who was sitting beside the driver after the cab glided on the road divider after running over the doctors' bike.

The persons on the bike have been identified as Sujith Kumar Mehta (27) and Vaibhav (26), both working as doctors at Vydehi Hospital. The security guard Sanjeet Mahapatra (23) who was in the vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The doctors were on their way back home when the accident took place. Whitefield traffic inspector L Nagesh said, "All the deceased are north Indians and we have informed their respective families, who will be here in two days.

The driver of the vehicle is absconding and we are looking for him. We have registered a case under rash driving, death caused by negligent and under Indian Motor Vehicle Acts for hit and run case."
