In yet another bizarre road accident, a speeding motorcyclist had a lucky escape after crashing into a car, but ended up being hit by a lamppost he knocked over during the accident.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, shows the motorcyclist Daniel Joventino Rumao, 21, crashing into a car, and getting knocked over, in the eastern Brazilian state of Ceara.

Due to the impact of the crash, Daniel’s vehicle slid, and his bike slammed into a lamppost. To his utter bad luck, as Daniel was getting up, the lamppost fell right on top of his head.

Daniel, a local city councillor, told mirror.co.uk, "When I saw that I was going to crash against the lamppost, I jumped from the motorbike."

On the lamppost falling, he stated, "It hit me in the head and then in the legs. During the first few seconds I saw stars. Then I looked at my legs and I noticed that I was badly injured. The pain was very strong but I was conscious all the time."

Mirror.co.uk further said that surgeons had to piece his shattered bones back together with steel pins. Daniel said: "The lucky thing was to have survived. There is no greater victory than that. I was born again."

Cops are now hunting for the car driver. On it, Daniel told the website, "He got out of the car, looked at me and then left. I know that he did not want to hurt me, but I hope he will pay for the damage to my motorbike.”
