A man from Ukraine legally changed his name to 'iPhone 7' in order to get Apple's latest flagship smartphone for free! According to a report by the Associated Press, 20-year-old Olexander Turin from Ukraine changed his name to 'iPhone Sim', which translates to iPhone 7 in Ukranian.
He did this to take advantage of a new promotion, where the first five people to change their names to iPhone 7 would get a unit free of cost.
Although an iPhone 7 costs about USD 850 in Ukraine, which is roughly over Rs 56,000, the name change only cost USD 2!
iPhone Sim's family and friends though initially shocked by his spontaneous decision are now supporting it. He is even considering changing his name back after becoming a father.
Recently, a woman in China convinced her 20 boyfriends to buy her an iPhone 7 each, which she sold to get a new house for herself.
In September, China's richest man, Wang Jianlin, bought his pet dog Coco the Alaskan Malamute, 8 new iPhone 7s! Apart from the iPhones, Coco also owns two solid gold Apple smartwatches.
