I am no stickler for love. No romantic candle light dinners, long drives or leaving mushy love notes on each other's beds. Nothing listed above, works for me. Yet seeing the world around me getting caught up in the melodrama of love makes me wonder what the hype is all about? Why can't love be simple or to the point, something that my parents felt when they were my age? They met, liked each another and decided to get married. Period. No melodrama, no broken hearts and no fuss. Simple, yet seemingly Herculean in today's time!

When Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan broke up in Love Aaj Kal for the sheer reason that the duo felt they wouldn't be able to maintain a long distance relationship, the director undoubtedly visualised the nuances of a practical young working couple. However, the director again took the trodden path in the second half by complicating matters through the customary rona-dhona.

Very recently, a friend walked up to his parents to disclose his affair with his girlfriend after the latter's family found out. The customary family objection followed after which the duo broke up. Practical decision it seemed, but seeing the after effects of the decision makes me actually wonder whether love is worth all the attention
it gets.

More so, they always wanted to get married. Yet, when the time came for the big test they simply failed to prove their love. While I provided the best friend's shoulder to cry on, I now wonder that in the age of Internet marriages and SMS love stories, are we losing out on the sanctity of love.

This is something that takes us back to the age of innocent romance bringing up a tough debate, probably with no definite answers. Worse after all the hype and hoopla, all you are left with is a broken heart. No anti-love campaign here, just a thought that love will actually find a way.

I'd really love to hear a simple love story. Fairytale ending you say? Well. hopefully there might be some day.
