While a certain Betty Singh described her as 'the Chris Gayle of politics who hit a six with a single stroke', others referred to how 'Didi did it in style, making the impossible possible'. Sanjay Jha had a pertinent question though: 'WB had become Waste Bengal under the CPM,' he pointed out, 'but does Mamata have a real plan? Is she the panacea?' We'll all find out soon enough, won't we?

Pritish Nandy and Suhel Seth have long proved to be men with a lot to say. Today, the former tweeted: 'Sonia rules India. Pratibha, Rashtrapati Bhavan. Sheila, Mamata and Jaya are CMs. Munni and Sheila rule our hearts. Kani to rule Tihar. Woman power!'
