The pop legend, who died after a cardiac arrest on June 25, indulged in "a lot of self-loathing" after the harrowing accident.
The video of the accident, which was made public recently, shows how Jackson suffered second and third-degree burn injuries after his head caught fire during the shooting in Los Angeles.
It is said that MJ developed an addiction to painkillers and a fascination to plastic surgery while recovering from the accident. Chopra added that obsession with mutilation was part of Jackson's childhood stress.
