Traditionally, a Mojito is not very strong. It's made of five ingredients -- white rum, sugar (traditionally sugarcane juice), lime juice, sparkling water and mint.
The giant 2,011-litre minty cocktail, one of the favourite beverages of late renowned writer Ernest Hemingway, was mixed in a two-metre-high six-sided plexiglass container.
The previous record was set by the Italians in July when they made a 1,300-litre mojito.
Once the Cuban cocktail was ready, part of it was poured into smaller glasses and sold for five euros per glass to the locals.
The rest of the sweet limey beverage was bottled and will go on sale in the shops of Knokke. The proceeds will be allocated to young families in need.
